Description: DevOps opening with awesome software company in Southbury, CT.

Looking for someone with AWS, Docker, Chef and solid coding skills either Ruby, Java, Go.

Also needs to be strong in *nix environments. It would be a permanent position $140k - $150k range. Might consider someone junior for right fit and right skills ~$100k.


The Lead DevOps Engineer oversees and manages the process to automate and accelerate the testing, release and deployment of applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. This position will have a background in development, operations, and full-stack implementations.
Responsible for programming in a high-level language such as Ruby, Python, Java, C# or other language to script installation, configuration and provisioning. This position provides continuous delivery solutions in a hybrid cloud environment and requires experience with the core suite of tools used to manage different cloud providers.
Establish and employ Continuous Integration practices and tools such as Jenkins or other CI tools. Experience in the use of configuration management automation tools in creating continuous delivery systems. Employ industry Continuous Delivery patterns and collaboratively work with other members to achieve successful continuous delivery solutions. Provide the security and reliability of the production environment through careful monitoring, automation, maintenance and deployment processes, as well as regular testing, including cloud and on-premises.

Required Qualifications :

Skills required include:

 


Jenkins, Chef, Terraform, AWS, CentOS, Ruby, Go, Logstash, Solid Unix/Linux knowledge, admin and scripting skills.




Nice to have Java, HTML5, AngularJS, MySQL, Redis.


 


Required Skill/ability 1:  Demonstrated knowledge of cloud architecture & implementation features: OS, multi-tenancy, virtualization, orchestration, and elastic scalability. Proven experience spanning at least two IT disciplines, including technical architecture, application development, or operations.


 


Required Skill/ability 2:  Working knowledge of enterprise data center technologies including storage platforms, network switching, and security infrastructure within a virtualized data center. Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes. Proven ability at evaluating problems accurately and displaying sound judgment.


 


Required Skill/ability 3:  Experience maintaining an infrastructure and ensuring stability while adding new features. Familiarity with a broad portfolio of AWS infrastructure tools (EBS, S3, EC2, Elastic IP, Route 53, VPC) and experience with cloud infrastructure management and automation technologies (Chef, Puppet).


 


Required Skill/ability 4:  Proven experience in the application tool development and integration of operational toolsets with cloud computing APIs and tools, such as Python and CloudFormation.


 


Required Skill/ability 5:  Well-developed oral, written, and presentation skills.


 


Preferred Education, Experience and Skills:  Ability to clearly articulate design and implementation choices. Experience working in a research or academic setting. Experience creating and testing Disaster Recovery Plans. Team Lead experience.
