Ridgefield One is a staffing agency serving NY, CT, and VT.  Our client is a major insurance company with offices in Stamford and Greenwich, CT. 



 



We are currently recruiting for an Internal Audit Data Analyst.

 


Description:  This position will work with the Operating Units and Shared Services to acquire data and develop computer assisted audit techniques to support financial, operational, and regulatory audits.  The Data Analyst will consult with the Internal Audit teams to design and deliver analytics that increase the assurance of the audits while also providing insight into the operating effectiveness of the control environment. The individual should have a consultative approach, strong problem solving skills, an ability to visualize analyzed data and familiarity with databases and data extraction techniques.  This role will also be responsible for maintaining the RSA Archer system used by the Internal Audit Department via collaboration with the Technology Department.

Responsibilities:


Data Analytics




  • Work with operating units worldwide to acquire data from Underwriting, Claims and Financial systems for use within the Internal Audit Department.




  • Gain an understanding of the flow of data and develop a data dictionary defining the key data fields needed for Underwriting, Claims, and Financial audits.




  • Provide technical expertise on data extraction, cleansing, mining, analysis, and data reporting.




  • Support the Internal Audit Team by executing queries, extracting and manipulating data to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of audit deliverables.




  • Work with Corporate Financial Analysis team to pull data from the Financial Data Warehouse relevant to internal audit needs via Excel and OBIEE.




  • Develop customized scripts in ACL, or similar audit software, to reveal trends and detect anomalies for Internal Audit Department use.




  • Build data analytics program to support the Internal Audit Department’s continuous monitoring effort.




Business Systems




  • Support the maintenance of the RSA Archer system as it relates to the Internal Audit Department (Compliance, Internal Audit Work papers, Audit Reports, and Remedial Follow-up).




  • Liaise with the WRBC Technology Department to develop business requirements for fixes or enhancements to the Archer system.




  • Monitor, coordinate and perform User Acceptance testing for Archer.




  • Coordinate with Internal Audit Team to ensure Archer users have appropriate access.




  • Provide training and support to the Internal Audit Department staff members.




Management Reporting




  • Support and enhance  quarterly management reporting




  • Lead or participate in special projects as assigned





Required Qualifications :

Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience:




  • Minimum 7 years of data analytics experience, preferably in an audit/compliance role




  • Relevant degree from an accredited college or university.




  • RSA Archer experience or familiarity developing and maintaining a GRC system




  • Property and Casualty Insurance experience is a  plus




  • Experience with continuous auditing techniques is a plus




  • Relevant certification is a plus (i.e., CPA, CISA, CIA, or CISSP)




Skills and Characteristics:




  • Strong analytical skills.  Ability to correlate similar data between different systems, languages, and currencies.






  • Working knowledge of SQL, OBIEE, PeopleSoft and Hyperion Smart View.




  • Proficient with advanced functions in Excel and ACL or IDEA




  • Skilled in developing and managing relationships with multiple business and technical personnel




  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Able to write and verbally convey information so that others understand what is being communicated.




  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision while remaining mindful of time constraints.




  • Able to prioritize, multi-task, and adjust according to new information and changing circumstances.




  • Innovation to develop new ideas or work methods and initiative to take advantage of opportunities that result in better business performance.




  • This role would be best suited for a person who works well independently, has a strong data analysis background, and an understanding of the importance of data information to an internal audit department.




Location & Travel: This position is located at headquarters in Greenwich, CT. This job will require periodic overnight travel to Operating Unit locations (approximately 15%-20%).  Travel is mostly within the United States but there is some international travel as well.
