Ridgefield One has been contracted to help fill a number of new positions with a growing Cyber Defense company in Fairfield County, CT.


The Senior Software Engineer position will have a significant role in supporting current and future products within our critical infrastructure security product landscape. Successful candidates must be experienced with Linux and Windows systems with a focus on industrial protocols while keeping security best practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create critical infrastructure applications to meet market demands while using security best practices.

  • Assume lead role in the enhancement and maintenance of software product and 3rd party client applications

  • In-depth knowledge of OSIsoft protocol

  • Assume lead role in the enhancement and maintenance of OPC Server Transfer product.

  • Ability to setup and configure the OPC server along with the understanding of the OPC interface standard.

  • Assume lead role in the enhancement and maintenance of the MBTS product.

  • Configure Modbus devices and simulators for testing Modbus Transfer Service.

  • Subject matter expert on all Critical Infrastructure Products for development, customer support, and documentation teams.

  • Ability to code for both Linux and Windows (.NET) environments

  • Code according to established specification for maximum compatibility and robustness using C++ and C# which is used in critical infrastructure applications.

  • Lead developer for Secure Software Update Service (SSUS) product, which requires knowledge of HTML, CSS, Python, PHP, and JavaScript.

  • Ability to define and present product enhancements in PDP document

  • Ability to work with customers to understand problems and define solutions.

  • Responsible for Critical Infrastructure product releases and archiving

  • Work effectively within a team environment

  • Other duties as management may so direct

Required Qualifications :


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Any previous security clearances a plus

  • 10+ years’ experience

  • College degree in a relevant field of study. i.e. engineering, computer science, physics, etc. (advanced degree a plus)

  • Limited travel may be required


Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of relevant software/systems as follows:

    • Unix/Linux

    • Development skills and overall knowledge of Linux systems

    • Strong Network skills (TCP/UDP)

  • Coding background consisting of: C, C++, C#, Python, PHP, JavaScript and Bash scripting

  • SQL knowledge is a plus

  • Visual Studio experience for .NET development and deployment

  • Experience creating rpm packages (Red Hat Pkg Manager) using CentOS

  • Experience debugging system level problems

  • Experience with version control software (i.e. Git, Subversion, CVS) a plus

  • Significant hands-on experience with the software development and testing

  • Overall coordination, development and execution of product development

  • Able to work in a fast passed start-up environment

  • Ability to see the big picture
