Job Description :
The Sr. UX Researcher manages all phases of a UX research study and has expertise in four or more UX research methodologies and is familiar and has experience conducting all standard methods 

Required Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Journalism, related field or relevant experience; Masters degree highly desirable. 
- Minimum five+ years experience conducting large and small scale studies and presenting findings to various audiences (executive/business/technical) 
- Strong knowledge of Usability best practices and study design 
- Proven ability to write and edit task-based scenarios and user stories for a business and technology audience 
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently, take initiative and provide follow through. 
- Ability to provide data that helps inform designs, personas, and journey maps 
- Strong knowledge of web publishing standards, content development and management, and web technologies. 
- 3-5 years experience with Morae, A/B testing tools and third-party unmoderated user testing platforms 
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills. 
- Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail 
- Passionate about UX and user research and knowledgeable about the principles of design thinking 
- Embraces a spirit of curiosity, empathy, observational skills, desire to help people with different abilities, motivation to improve things and a love of a good user experience 
- Excellent attention to detail and an ability to listen and observe in an unbiased, non-intrusive, compassionate manner 

Success Criteria for Position 
- Exemplifies objectivity and establishes credibility regarding UX research data in an agile or non-agile development process 
- Successfully conducts UX research studies and identifies the best available UX research method(s) to do so 
- Keeps abreast of emerging technology and UX research trends and seeks opportunity to evolve user testing offerings on a regular basis 
- Supports Gartner's strategy and identifies opportunities to address client/customer key enterprise issues at the highest levels. 
- Identifies opportunities for greater understanding of user behavior and takes initiative in proposing areas in need of study 
- Diplomatically fosters collaboration with UXCoE, business partners and development team throughout project development lifecycle. 
- Always advocates on behalf of the user, and use strong persuasion skills supported by data to convince teams to improve the user experience. 


Overall Responsibilities 
- Create specific UX research plans for Gartner's web properties and applications, for internal and external audiences 
- Conduct all phases of task focused - moderated and unmoderated - as well as in the field and provide recommendations for improvement. 
- Work with project business representatives and team members to test business requirements using heuristic/qualitative methods. 
- Oversee several projects at a time planning through launch in a very multitasking interdisciplinary culture. 
- Mentor and collaborate with junior researchers. 
- Understand the true research need for any given project, and select the appropriate research methodology for this need. 
- Cares about people and their situation, is genuinely curious and is able to generate questions after considering all angles, opportunities and challenges to gain a deeper understanding of intended users
